Map Review of The Back Door

Sorry, we couldn't find any images attached to this page.

The map takes place in a supply facility where a secret bridge entrance to Black Mesa is being constructed and it's your objective to find that entrance.

For those of you who enjoy a good fire-fight, this is definitely the map for you. Almost every door has soldiers behind it along with many poorly placed turrets which are no challenge to destroy. This map is packed with sandbags and boxes to hide behind during combat, which leaves you able to kill nearly all your enemies with little or no return fire. Because of this the map doesn't provide what I would call a true challenge to even one person. Also, if you enjoy mowing down tons of guys with the gatling gun, you will LOVE this map because you'll have multiple opportunities to do so.

Ammo is in short supply and can become an issue if there are more than a few players. Health is fairly rare in this map, but you probably won't need it that often.

The layout of the map also leaves a lot to be desired. As you travel down the many corridors you will discover that some lead to nowhere and there are more shortcuts than you could possibly ever need or keep track of. Despite these shortcomings, the map is generally fairly enjoyable to play and rarely allows time for rest between shootouts.

On a scale of 1 to 10, here's how the map stacks up in the following categories:

Weapons: 6/10
Supplies: 5/10
Layout: 4/10
Length: 9/10
Fun: 9/10
Overall: 7/10

I would recommend this map to you and can guarantee that you will enjoy playing and it certainly won't leave you bored.

Score: 7 / 10
