I was pleasantly surprised playing Reflux for the first time, having only discovered it in now in 2019.

It's set in a multi-storey building with a Max Payne 1 vibe, and it uses this verticality well—shortcuts open up throughout the map, and respawning players never have to walk that far to get back into the action. Nice use of enemy variety, and enemy types that are often annoying (e.g. snipers, female assassins, enemies using turrets) are placed in a way that complements their combat styles but also makes them satisfying to fight.

A decent walkthrough map with a couple of things that bring it down a few pegs, in my opinion.

1. Dr. Walker (whom you have to escort)'s desk is too close to the door behind it, making it time consuming to get him to go around, and the ai nodes leave something to be desired (Dr. Walker won't follow you around corners)

2. When you actually bring him to the elevator, he runs to it, forcing everyone into a cutscene. If you didn't kill all the pit drones by the time he gets to it, you're pretty much guaranteed to fail as he'll get killed by them (ideally, the trigger for him to activate the cutscene shouldn't be enabled until after they're dead)

People usually ignore a lot of things.

1. Totem in all series, they need to destroy all totems but…..they think these totems just decorations and ignore them.

2. Green Metal Box at one of series, they usually ignore these boxes that need to destroyed.

3. Brown Metal Boxes and Radio Device at final of series, who will know they need to destroy all of these, they ignore them and just stuck in front of tiny house, they should know the mission, but no mission info.

People usually rtv or tending to change map after defeat Picard's force.

After that, the map seems no longer have mission to do.
And they start thinking this is an incomplete beta.

Ended up RTV or Votemap.

In fact, this map has an ending, but they have no idea how many Gordon Freeman's brain remaining.

A reminder message will be useful to remind players how many remaining brains they need to collect.

100% EZ stuck.

The map has some buttons at the ceiling, that is very not obvious, people usually get stuck at flood room and when they collect the first key, they don't know where to go.

And players will seldom seeing the ceiling and missed the 2 buttons in a small room and they get stuck forever.

This map is frustrating at these hidden buttons.

I saw so many newbies get stuck here.

It's very frustrating, the clue when you pressed the yellow button is very not obvious.
Just feel like nothing happen.

Can you make the flame shrink more to make it looks more obvious…?

If no, this map will kill more newbie's patience.

Although there's so many area that newbies will get stuck, like the broken door that has ponds, however the sparks make a big clue, that is fine.

Is it just meant to be a simple armor battery pickup?
If yes then why is it spawned via a squadmaker? It's enabled to spawn on startup, so that's why I suspect its just meant to be an armour pickup. Really daft way to spawn an item when the item itself can be placed standalone in the map.

It's a simple fix but there must have been a valid reason why the author decided to spawn it via squadmaker- if not then I can upload a patched bsp with the squadmaker fuckery deleted and a simple item_battery and be placed so that squadmaker precache bug is avoided entirely.

This map does not rely on excessive enemies and barely-there plot to be fun. Instead you can enjoy train rides between various tourist spots with a small amount of puzzles. The description tells enough, although if you're unsure what SNS is, it means social networking service or social media (I think).
This is my favorite Sven-Coop map so far.

To developer, my only complaint is that the grass outside the train (in screenshot 2 and 6) is a bit too stretched. It would be nice if the textures were sized nicely and maybe blend with the train tracks' texture. Otherwise I truly enjoyed this map even with 1 friend! Thank you for making it.

In DarkForest1 the squad/monstermaker which spawns monstertype "item_battery" crashes linux dedicated servers because models/v_battery.mdl is not precached.

The metal box doesn't make the connection for the generator. At least not after 5 minutes of repositioning it.

Thank you for raising these concerns. I am sorry you were negatively impacted by edits on the site. No one should feel that way. Please see my thoughts below.

It is important to note that the site is a wiki with the intent to be a repository of all publicly available map content and related data. A large chunk of the content in SCMapDB (probably more than half) has been inventoried over the years and maintained by dedicated community members—not the mappers themselves. When SCMapDB was built, it was a time of fragmented, incomplete, and outdated sites, dead links, broken installers, and nowhere to find all SC maps. The hope was to fix these problems by creating an open platform able to stand the test of time, compatible with the fact that most mappers are no longer around or active.

The "profile pages" (mapper pages) were meant to be more like a Wikipedia article for a movie director—listing all the movies they've directed, were involved with, or are currently working on. For perspective: Say the director was unhappy with an old movie they worked on and released to the public, and wanted to remove any mention of it from the article about them. Wikipedia and their community would not allow that. In fact, the director is likely the one to get banned if they kept trying to delete valid info. We are not following that model here. Mappers have the final say regarding their content. But I wanted to emphasize that all parts of this site are in fact an open wiki.

If someone is clearly making bad or unwanted edits, I think it makes sense to deal with the offender directly. This could start by contacting them and lead up to reporting and banning from the entire site. This will be handled.

Regarding the page lock request, currently the way it works is everyone (even page owner) is blocked from editing a locked page. Only admins and mods are able to edit. I can look into this further and see if there's a better way.
