I don't know what's the issue. Me my friends and some others in a public server, were playing it without problems. Probably you installed it wrong.

The custom models used in BlackMesaArena2 have these paths:
svencoop_addon/models/bmarena/backpack_sven_red.mdl
svencoop_addon/models/sp/gonome2.mdl
But they should be:
models/bmarena/backpack_sven_red.mdl
models/sp/gonome2.mdl
Players won't see the models unless they download from here (servers send files to svencoop_downloads instead). This is fixable with ripent.
I just went ahead and fixed this myself.
Don't get me wrong, horde-spawn can be fun, but not in this case.
The maps are basic but perfectly adequate combat arenas, the big problem is the spawning which is entirely predictable and mostly absurd. A golden opportunity was missed, instead there's just frustration. Only XP whores or godmoders can even hope to play the later maps, since you are routinely deposited on various islands (surrounded by a death-gutter) and then 20 Agrunts spawn in your face and punch you into the death-gutter, or 20 controllers spawn directly above you and instantly kill you, or a bunch of minigargs spawn in your face and instantly kill you, etc. etc. I quit at the ridiculous kingpin that had something stupid like 15 or 20,000 hp and just kept zapping and balling me to death, because it just got boring and pointless. Which is a great shame, because there were many parts which were well done and mostly, it was quite fun to mow your way through hordes, also there were a few instances where you had to think in order to reach certain caches (which was a nice change) and areas where obviously co-op would be a great help, which is always a bonus.
Ultimately it is let down by the fixed nature of the spawning, a problem would have been so easy to fix by simply counting the alive players and spawning appropriate quantities of monsters, ideally with appropriate HPs. This alone would have made it so much better. To combat XP abusers, you can easily detect XP style mods and globally hike the monster hp, just with a single changevalue.. or even better, weaponstrip any player that has ridiculously high HP or AP. I urge the author to invest a little more time in controlling the squadmakers, in order to make this already good series of maps into a really classic horde-masher, instead of a frustrating nope.
I agree with everything you said. I made this map when I had the hype in creating a sven coop map, thing i never did before and in my mind i had totally another idea of this map. Basically the arenas were only 5 in total and had rounds, one harder than previous one until the miniboss. All of this because I saw another map like that and I was impressed and wanted to make my personal one, but I was and still I am noob with hammer editor, scripting and so on, so instead I made this. But again, because of the lack of knowledge, I couldn't make proper scripts or even simple stuff that just required more attention and dedication. I just "studied" the base things and made all the map with that :D So yeah even how the map is made right now, could be waaaaay more better, especially for big servers. I apologize for the poor map experience! Again, I wanted to make something cool but failed :D and right now I'm not interested anymore in mapping etc. Sooo yeah, this is it xD Thanks anyway for your feedback because with proper dedication I don't say the map would be fantastic etc, but atleast a bit cool and PLAYABLE Hahaha.
